UK Research and Innovation Calls for Research Proposals on Covid-19 (updated)

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is opening two calls for research proposals on impacts of Covid-19 across developing countries.

The call funded by the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) and the Newton Fund (published on May 21, 2020)

– Eligibility: Vietnamese researchers can apply either as PIs if Vietnamese research organisations led or have led and held UKRI grants, or as members partnering with UK-based PIs.

– Award range: no limit.

– Submission deadline: none – apply at any time.

The call funded by the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) and UK Department of Health and Social Care

– Eligibility: All researchers employed by legally registered Vietnamese higher education institutions and not-for-profit research institutions are eligible to apply as PIs.

– Award range: up to £1 million.

– Submission deadline: The call consists of three independent funding rounds, of which the deadlines of submission are:

  • Round 1: 22 June 2020
  • Round 2: 10 August 2020
  • Round 3: 28 September 2020
