On July 31 2012, the NAFOSTED had a meeting with the delegates of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment of the 13^th National Assembly, led by Mr. Phan Xuan Dung, member of the executive board of the Party Central Committee, member of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Le Dinh Tien, Deputy PM of Science and Technology cum Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the NAFOSTED, Mr. Nghiem Vu Khai, Deputy PM cum Chief editor of Law Amendments Committee of Science and Technology, and the members of the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of the NAFOSTED.

At the meeting, representatives of NAFOSTED reported the operations and activities of the Foundation since its launching, as well as the advantages and difficulties that the Foundation has overcome. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the Chairman answered questions and concerns of the Committee Chairman and its standing members.

The Committees delegation appreciated the Foundation’s contribution to the development of science and technology, especially in creating new financial mechanisms for the scientists doing researches, which has created good reputation in the scientific community.

Furthermore, the leaders of the NAFOSTED proposed certain ideas on the implementation of policies and investment laws in science, technology and environmental protection, also provided some comments about the Law Amendments for Science and Technology.
